This is what we have been waiting for, to stretch our limbs and shed those layers of ugly winter clothing off because summer is right around the corner!

You may be asking yourself as you sit in your cubical and watch the beautiful days go by- “how can I make the most of this summer?” Well, you have come to the correct place! Below is a list of some of the coolest places in Boston to catch some sun and get your drink and your two step on.

Let’s start from the bottom, though…with my least favorite places. This is a little biased, BUT DEAL WITH IT.

Name: Tia’s On The Waterfront
Outside: Patio drinking and dining
Location: 200 Atlantic Avenue, Boston
View: Depending on where you are standing, the waterfront or Quincy Market
The People: This is what makes me dislike the place. A bunch of 9-5ers, which is not bad on Friday’s.
Weekends: Guys dressed in pastels with their Ray Ban sunglasses on lanyards, or even worse, placed backwards on their heads. Girls are of the catty variety; very snobby people hang there but damn, it’s a great view.
Drinks: Day drinking calls for a martini in my book. They are okay, but stick to beer since it gets packed and everyone would hate you if you ordered a mixed drink. BEER FOR THE WIN.

Name: The Living Room
Outside: Wire frame tables and chairs on a very wide sidewalk in front of the restaurant.
Location: 101 Atlantic Avenue, Boston
View: A slight view of Tia’s and the Christopher Columbus Park.
People: What people? I hardly see people in this place. My friends and I go there for a reunion drink and we tend to be the only ones there.
Drinks: It’s very quiet there so order to your hearts content. I’ve had the martini and it satisfied my thirst for alcohol.

Name: Stephanie’s on Newbury
Outside: Chairs and tables covered by umbrellas on a gated sidewalk
Location: 190 Newbury Street, Boston
View: Overlooking angry drivers that are stuck in the never-ending traffic of Newbury street and super posh people.
People: Such a cluster of tourists, Europeans, and summer school kids.
Drinks: I never really appreciated anything I’ve gotten there, but you do you, boo.

Name: Joe’s American Bar & Grill
Outside: In front of the restaurant on a walking/bike path for the pedestrians. It wraps around but that tends to fill up very quickly; overlooks the water.
Location: 101 Atlantic Avenue, Boston
View: Overlooking/hearing children playing in the Christopher Columbus Park
People: Atmosphere is very chill here. It’s a great midpoint to meet girlfriends for a drink or a big party for pre-drinks. This is a very tourist-heavy location, do with it what you want.
Drink: I don’t know if they have martinis, I wasn’t really in the mood for one. The wine selection is good so share a bottle with friends!

Name: Boston Sail Loft Restaurant
Outside: Small balcony with no seating
Location: 80 Atlantic Avenue, Boston
View: Water, water, more water, and the inside of this tiny bar.
People: This is one of those places that tends to surprise you each and every time you go. Last summer, they had a Chubbies Shorts promotion, so you know what that brought into the bar.
Drinks: Stick with beer. The floors are sticky with beer, your hands will be sticky with beer, and you will end up smelling like beer but it’s awesome! Side note, they have Oreos at the bar, NBD.
