There were at least 36 people hospitalized and dozens
more treated at the scene Wednesday night after the Avicii concert at the TD Garden. A
Phase 2 Mass Casualty incident was declared, according to Boston.com and most
victims were taken out on stretchers. There were no fatalities. This incident comes
after a weekend where two people died at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las
Vegas that Avicii had attended.
Mike Bosse, the Boston EMS deputy superintendent said the
ages ranged from 16 to 25 and that many arrived at the show already
intoxicated.
“Fortunately no one was seriously injured. Mostly underage
kids involved in alcohol and or some illicit drugs,” said Bosse.
Bosse said 50 people were treated or evaluated at the
scene.
